Hello, I want to paint the master bedroom in my home a beige color and was thinking of going with BM clay beige. Could you please give me some ideas of colors for the master bathroom? I know the colors should mesh well but wasn't sure which should be darker (the bedroom or bath) and what shades go well together. Thank you!
Hi, and thanks for reading! As you can see in the post above, beige goes with virtually any color. I would look over the photos and see if anything strikes your fancy as an accent color. I can't offer you advice on color without knowing the colors you love.
As for Clay Beige -its a lovely light cool beige.
Your bathroom can be a little darker, as bathrooms generally have tons of light. But bear in mind that smaller rooms will look darker anyway, and even if you use the same color - the sheen will also be different in a wet area than in a dry area.
Something fun to try is to paint the ceiling a soft light grayed down neutral blue, gray, or blue-green, and then switch in the bathroom- the walls in the blue and the ceiling in the beige.

ReplyDeleteMy husband and I just bought our first home and had to fix up the electrical throughout. This has created a lot of wholes in the walls and given us the opportunity to repaint after the holes are patched. The kitchen is currently quite beige, not that is a bad thing. It has beige tile on the floor, brownish tile backsplash and blonde maple cabinets. The countertops are beige laminate and the appliances are white (we'll hopefully upgrade eventually to stainless steel). There is a built-in breakfast nook with white bench seating and the table is light-medium wood colour (excuse the spelling, I'm Canadian!). The benches came with black cushions which are fine and not even very noticeable. The kitchen is small and the ceilings are about 7 ft. high. Right now the walls are beige and I'm wondering what colour you would recommend? We like soothing greys/blues/beige. We're most likely painting the open concept living/dining area BM Revere Pewter. We were going to do BM Coventry Grey but thought it might be too dark and not go as well with the blonde hardwood floors. We don't want to whole house to be grey otherwise we'd probably just go with another grey in the kitchen. Any thoughts are appreciated! Thank you!
Realized I wrote 7 ft. but I meant 9 ft - oops! Also, we're now going to do white subway tile backsplash and are still contemplating what colour granite countertop and colour to paint the walls. I can send a photo if you'd like! Thanks so much!
